In some interviews, I have seen the turn of a new, technologically savvy generation represented by a 13-year-old kid. He insists that technology helps him more than deters him, especially because he claims he’s not like the other kids who spend too much time on their phones. On the other hand, the rest of my friends believe that technology can have benefits as well as drawbacks.
All of that upsets me. What would happen to our field and our time if these people existed and were able to see and break the companies that would define the future? Do business schools assign case studies to these innovators as a medium of inspiring their students to follow in their illuminated footsteps?
