What engineering has taught me

If someone asks me what have engineering has taught me, a simple answer will be engineering has taught me what life actually is, what it means to work under pressure and still give your best.it feels like it was just yesterday I was entering my campus unaware of the changes that will happen ahead with no familiar faces.

As it is always said that if you don’t know what to do with your life first take engineering you will get all the answers, find your passion. It not only teaches us about the technical knowledge but also very important lessons in the life as one is under constant pressure, the pressure of exams every month, the pressure of completing your assignments before the deadline the pressure just before the university exams, or the worst is when you hear that your results are declared. Towards the end of the journey, one becomes habitual to the pressure so much that it pressures you about why you don’t have any pressure. Here are a few points that engineering has taught  me:

  • Patience is key. This is one big lesson I learned here. You get to deal with professors who simply don’t agree they are wrong, classmates who’ll piss you off with their attitude, and sometimes you don’t even know why someone hates you. But don’t let it affect yourself as you already have a lot things to worry about.
  • Time and tide wait for no man. One learns what the real meaning of time management is. It might be a last-minute assignment or a project, or maybe studying for the semester exams the night before, you’ll learn how too juggle your tasks in these situations. Feels great to know
  • You ain’t the smartest man in the room. This hit me hard. You know, sometimes you think you are really good at what you do just because you were way ahead in it at school. In the kingdom of the blind, a man with one eye is the king. Things change here there are many people who are more intelligent and hardworking than you.
  • Tolerance Engineering life will exponentially increase your tolerance level. From boring lectures to backstabbers, everything is met with here. It will help you reach a level where you will realize
  • Jugaad Techniques ( life hacks) Jugaad is the lifeline of engineers. How to manage stuff in less available resources is the beauty of engineers

In a nutshell, if you survive this four years, then there isn’t anything out there that will break you, because this is the highest level of test one can go through.
