What Engineering Has Taught Me???

I had heard from people that what all you learn at your engineering college does not assist you at your job. Investing a huge amount of money just for an engineering degree is worthless and is a mere waste of your time and money…

REALLY…?

Well, let us discuss it. I was terribly happy after my last year’s semester exams and was looking forward to my results. Finally, the wait was over, and the RESULTS were out, Bulls Eye!! First-class with Distinction. I was walking on air, and my parents were happy. All set till now 😍

Until the next day, one of my family friends who was a BCA graduate visited us. He aforesaid “Congratulations for your future” and we had great family time. While leaving he whispered in my ears “You will surely come to know the value of your 4 year’s degree one day. All the best (ha-ha).”

I realised that his statement was sarcastic. I was feeling in the dumps…

On my bed, I kept thinking… Did I really waste my 4 years for just a paper of engineering degree?? I could have opted for BCA as it offers the same technical education saving money and a year.

After an hour full of thoughts, my eyes fall on a sparkling box. I realized that I had a gift waiting for me…I opened the box and whoop it was a brand-new iPad!

All my thoughts disappeared looking at the iPad…but the words from my friend were still locked in a small corner of my mind…

As days passed…

I started working for Siemens Technologies. I had a brilliant performance and I was promoted as a team lead. It was a big achievement for me…

In the evening I tossed a party among my friends and family, but the purpose was kept at surprise.

Guess what? BCA friend …the words popped out of my mind… I really wanted to give an answer to his previous sarcastic statements but I let it go…

Honestly, now, I feel as, Engineering a 4-year’s span of my life was the preparation to help me out for a better living and giving me life lessons by its nature to;

To sum up…

Engineering taught me the “way to approach life” and gave me “a path to walk on” making me unstoppable and reaching the height of success. My definition of success here is being healthy, wealthy and a responsible human being.

This was the answer to my BCA friend when he asked about my achievement(who is still working on the same designation from the past 3 years). He might have forgotten his words, but it was my answer to him who now must have known the value of an Engineer.  

My first thoughts were proved wrong… It is all worth it… The knowledge which I acquired is worth… An engineer’s degree is valuable. The money spent was worth it… Life Rocks…Engineers Rock!!!
